SYDNEY, 3 September 2026 - Primary, the autonomous treasury platform for growth and listed companies, has been named the winner of two categories at the 2026 Finder Innovation Awards: AI Innovation and Forex Broker Innovation. Primary was also named a finalist in the Fintech Innovation category.
The Finder Innovation Awards recognise products and services that have delivered measurable impact for Australian customers over the past 12 months. Entries are assessed by an independent expert judging panel, and the program is not pay to play, making the Finder badge the gold standard third-party seal of approval.
Winner: AI Innovation
Primary won the AI Innovation category after launching the first read-write treasury MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, making Primary the first treasury platform an AI agent can operate end to end. Finance leaders can ask Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible agent to check balances across entities and currencies, move funds, deploy idle cash into institutional money market funds, quote and execute FX and build hedging programs, all in natural language. Every AI-initiated action inherits the same permissions, approval workflows and audit trail as the platform itself, so businesses get the speed of automation with bank-grade governance. Judges noted the difference between AI that offers insights and AI that safely does the work: within months of launch, the majority of Primary's clients were running their treasury through their LLM of choice.
Winner: Forex Broker Innovation
Primary won the Forex Broker Innovation category for turning FX hedging from a traditional broker service into software. Growth companies converting millions a year have historically paid major-bank retail spreads, executed ad hoc and carried unhedged currency exposure because hedging required a corporate dealing desk and an adviser. Primary lets clients see their real currency exposures, drawn live from connected accounts and execute a hedging strategy in platform: booking forwards, rolling positions and rebalancing.
Finalist: Fintech Innovation
Primary was also recognised as a finalist in Fintech Innovation for unifying cash management, institutional yield, FX and payments into a single AI-native platform. Australian growth companies including Heidi Health, UpGuard, Lyka, Eucalyptus and DroneShield chose Primary to run institutional-grade treasury, with access to investment infrastructure from our partners BlackRock, Morgan Stanley and State Street.
Quote from Ben, co-founder and CEO of Primary
"Treasury still remains the last corporate function still run by hand and growth companies have paid for that in idle cash, bank spreads and finance hours. We've built Primary so a hyper-scaling company can run its money the way an enterprise does, with AI doing the work and humans approving what matters. Winning both the AI and Forex Broker categories is validation that the model works. We're grateful to Finder's judges, and to the finance leaders who trusted us with their treasury early."
