Primary has been named the winner of Best Innovation in Open Banking/Open Finance at the 2026 Finnies, FinTech Australia's national fintech awards. The category was sponsored by Equifax.
Primary was recognised for making open banking the connective foundation of its agentic treasury platform. By turning open banking data into real-time, machine-readable context, Primary powers AI-driven experiences that let finance teams move money, manage FX, and act on live treasury positions with unprecedented speed and confidence.
One of the core products enabled by Primary's Open Banking innovation is through Primary's MCP server, the connective layer between its platform and the agentic tools clients rely on every day.
For clients, this means treasury workflows that once took hours now happen in moments, with reliability and transparency built in at the data layer.
"This award reflects our belief that open banking is the foundation for the next generation of intelligent finance," said Ben Buckingham, CEO of Primary. "We're proud to be building the agentic treasury layer for growth companies, and this is a milestone for the whole team."
Primary will continue partnering with open banking providers to expand the utility, reliability, and range of use cases its clients can unlock.
